Starting with Chuck saved today

Thanks goodness. Chuck is saved. Kudo’s to Give Me My Remote for keeping this going, though as they mentioned, there were budget cuts and the season was extended for only 13 episodes instead of 22.  I’ll keep riding that horse as I love that show :-)

Something else that I’m pretty passionate about is Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality is basically a free and open internet. I remember sitting in a room 10 years ago and trying to justify why a $350 million company needed a web site (incidentally I now have those same conversations about social media. Yes the world is round).

I’ll tell that story some other time but the point is that the web has developed into an integral part of people’s lives. Now my lovely Comcast cable company wants to put bandwidth limits on how much I can use my internet connection. I don’t use anywhere near the cap but I’m sure it’s only a coincidence that I can tell a significant decrease in my speed since the cap was instituted (though the communication from Comcast was that this wouldn’t be the case).

Cory Doctorow from the Guardian makes some good points on why we can’t let ISP’s control our bandwidth.

Something else near and dear to my heart…food :-) If I were still single I would buy this table in a heart beat. Made for those dinner in small spaces or as a single at home.

Has anybody been to the Screen on the Green events. I think my friend Karen used to go quite a bit. We made it down once as I recall. Hope they are able to save it.

More fodder for your “can you get with the program and realize that the social web isn’t going way” folder. The International Advertising Bureau Sets Some Standards For Social Ads.

Finally, PC World has a nice section on everything you need to know about Twitter. Yeah know, I think my grandmother used to actually subscribe to PC World for years.
