Looking for a free graphic editor

Look no further than GIMP. GIMP is a free graphic editor. People use it as a free software replacement for Adobe Photoshop. Typical uses include creating and editing graphics and logos, resizing and cropping photos, altering colors, converting between different image formats, etc. I especially like it because they have a portable version that can be run from my thumb drive. That way I can edit photos on the road using my laptop. Photoshop is a better application but I can’t run it off a thumb drive and it is a huge memory hog on my laptop. GIMP can also be used to create basic animated images in GIF format. This little guy below is the project’s mascot, Wilber.

Pineapple Express

This weekend we went to see Pineapple Express. I love Seth Rogan so I was pretty excited to see it. I should have read the reviews more closely. It was NOT good. It was kind of a Cheech and Chong stoner movie but not nearly as funny as those guys in their prime. I was actually pretty disappointed. I’d also like to once again ask whomever owns the Calvert Theatre to do a little upgrading. Just let me be able to buy my tickets with a credit card for criminey sakes. I always forget to have cash on hand and have to hit the money mover. And don’t get me started on ATM fees. GRRR.

The beach

We wanted to get away this weekend a little so we went to Rehoboth Beach. Our hotel was excellent and right on the boardwalk. We stayed at the Admiral Hotel and I highly recommend it. They had a nice pool and they really are right on the boardwalk. It’s like 20 feet. The kids had a great time at the beach and playing at the Funland on the boardwalk.

Pro Football Hall of Fame

I’m a big Redskins fan and had a great opportunity to go to the Hall of Fame with a friend this weekend and see the induction ceremony for Art Monk and Darrell Green. It was a special weekend for Redskins fans as we dominated the crowd. Fawcett Stadium, where they hold the ceremony and game was packed with red and you couldn’t find two better Redskins than Green and Monk. Green gave a very special speech and was a first ballot famer but the day really belonged to Art Monk. He was way over due and got a very long ovation. Congrats to both of them. I have many fond memories from my childhood thanks to them.
