OpenOffice
I’m a big believer in opensource software. Mainly because you generally can’t be the price point. Free is pretty good. Along these lines OpenOffice might be for you. It’s a business application suite along the lines of Microsoft Office. One great thing about it is that you save your documents as Microsoft Office documents. What that means is that someone can send you a word doc, you can edit it, and send them back your edits as a word doc. They’ll be none the wiser that you didn’t spend $250 (approx) for the Microsoft office suite. I’ve used OpenOffice for years and highly recommend it. Visit OpenOffice.org to download the software. Annmarie Garden
We went down to Annmarie Garden for the opening of the new art building. The Annmarie Garden sits on 30 acres of land in Calvert purchased by Francis & Ann M. Koenig in the 1950′s. The land was donated in the early 90′s to serve as a place for a land sculpture walk. It has evolved into a place that is committed to connecting people to art and nature through a wide variety of exhibits, programs, classes, workshops, public projects, and annual events. Most recently they have built a gallery where local and international artists can exhibit their work. They had a black tie affair on Friday night that we got an invitation to because of Goofy Wildcat Design but we didn’t go because we couldn’t fit it in the schedule. So we went down on Saturday and enjoyed the entertainment instead.
